Interchange is the annual employer recruiting event for the Undergraduate and Graduate programs at the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture. Professionals and firms are invited to meet students in the studio environment and view their design projects and research.
In the afternoon, employers and students mingle at STEAM, a career expo hosted by the CMU Career and Professional Development Center. The STEAM Career Fair serves as the launchpad for the spring season and extends its invitation to all students across campus: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts (architecture and design) and Mathematics.
2025 Interchange/STEAM Agenda:
- 9:30 a.m. - Arrival to Margaret Morrison Hall, coffee & conversation
- 9:45 a.m. - Welcome from Omar Khan, Head, School of Architecture
- 10:00 a.m. - Noon - Breakout sessions in Margaret Morrison Hall
- Noon - 2:00 p.m. - Break
- 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - STEAM Career Fair in Weigand Gym, located on the first floor of the Cohon University Center
Register by Friday, February 7
A fee is not required to participate in the morning session of Interchange. If you would like to participate in the afternoon session of STEAM, employers in the architecture industry will receive a 50% discount off of the registration fee. You will see the cost listed as $800 when you submit your application, however you will only be charged $400 when your application is approved. Additional details (parking, directions, etc.) will be provided to participating firms well in advance.
