Mission

The Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) Internship was a summer job opportunity for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) students at one of the most noted international architecture practices in the world. The internship provided two (2) paid summer positions in the firm’s New York office for exceptionally talented and dedicated rising fifth-year students in the B.Arch program.

Evaluation Criteria

Candidates were selected by a faculty committee and then interviewed and approved by SOM. Interns received a salary directly from SOM and were responsible for their own living expenses in New York.

Upon completion of the internship, recipients gave a joint presentation of their work and experience to the school in the fall semester of their fifth year.

Eligibility & Schedule

The SOM internship was open to rising fifth-year students in the B.Arch program.
