Khee Poh Lam is Professor Emeritus with Carnegie Mellon Architecture. He is an educator, researcher, architect and consultant who specializes in lifecycle building information modeling and computational design support systems for total building performance analysis and building diagnostics. He teaches architectural design with a focus on systems integration, building energy modeling, building controls and diagnostics, as well as acoustics and lighting. He has completed many major funded research projects in Singapore and the U.S., and his findings are widely published. He is an Editorial Board Member of Building Simulation: An International Journal (Springer and Tsinghua University Press), Honorary Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Building Performance Simulation, Taylor and Francis, UK, and International Journal on Smart and Sustainable Cities (World Scientific and Centre for Liveable Cities, Singapore).

He is an Advisory Panel member of the Centre for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development, Singapore. He is also an Advisory Board member of Delos, USA, which established the world's first building standard focused exclusively on human health and wellness. He is Co-Chair of the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) Task Force on COVID-19 and other Respiratory Infections, Co-Chair of the IWBI WELL City Advisory, Expert Panel Member of the WHO South East Asia Region Urban Health and Healthy City Network, as well as an Executive Committee member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Singapore.

Khee Poh was a former member of the US Energy Foundation Board of Directors and contributed to a range of activities including green building codes and standards, education and training, as well as sustainable design demonstration projects in China. He was also a former board member of the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN), a globally organized and regionally focused organization whose mission is to provide policy expertise and technical assistance to advance building energy performance and realize sustainable built environments for all.

Khee Poh is a building performance consultant for several major award-winning projects as well as certified green buildings in the private and public sectors in Singapore, China and the U.S. He was awarded the 2013 Alexander Schwarzkopf Prize for Technological Innovation from the US National Science Foundation “for exemplary research contribution to technology innovation and positive impact on technology, industry, and the society as a whole.” He also received an IBM Faculty Award in 2010. He was conferred the inaugural iBuildSG LEAD Distinguished Fellow by the Building and Construction Authority, Singapore in 2020.

Khee Poh graduated from the University of Nottingham, UK with a B.Arch degree with honors and holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a licensed architect (UK) and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He is also a Fellow of the International Building Performance Simulation Association. He was appointed Professor Emeritus at Carnegie Mellon University in August of 2018. He currently holds an appointment as Provost’s Chair Professor of Architecture and the Built Environment, College of Design and Engineering, and is the immediate past Dean of the School of Design and Environment at the National University of Singapore.
