This course critically examines capitalist frameworks in real estate development and explores alternatives that prioritize social equity, inclusivity and sustainability. Students engage in lectures, storytelling, workshops and case studies to understand how diverse cultural and social contexts can shape equitable development practices. Emphasizing leadership and collaboration, the course teaches students how to navigate complex stakeholder interests, regulatory requirements and social responsibility. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to challenge conventional models and propose real estate projects that balance financial viability with socially responsible and inclusive outcomes.
